Andrea rang in the holiday season singing alongside her wife Klea Blackhurst, Anthony Murphy, and Spot-on Entertainment founder Scott Coulter at the John W. Engeman Theatre in Long Island in the Broadway Hollywood Holiday Songbook concert.
Andrea talks with Jennifer Apple - host of Empowered Artist Collective. She shares her journey as a queer performer & producer and what led her to co-found Ring of Keys. They talk about the need for queer visibility and representation, creating change even if it takes time, and what it means to lead by example & trust your intuition.

Andrea performed in the 10-minute musical Black Holes Like Donuts as part of Prospect Theater’s 2022 Musical Theatre Lab concert “Caption This”. A gut-wrenching show about grief by Eliza Randall & Sam Norman, Black Holes Like Donuts explores the relationship of a father and daughter after her Mother has died.

Andrea was proud to lend vocals to friend Anessa Marie’s concert premiere at 54 Below of her semi-autobiographical new musical A First Glimpse of Light telling the story of a 32-year-old trans actress as she prepares for gender confirmation surgery in New York City.
Creative team includes playwright/lyricist Richard Edelman, composer Miranda Ferriss Jones with direction by November Christine. Centering around the lives and loves of 19th-century sculptors Edmonia Lewis and Emma Stebbins, Picture This explores the intersection of womanhood, queerness, race, and self-expression. Andrea plays Charlotte Cushman.
Andrea premiered the song “You Have To Meet Carrie” by friend Joanna Burns in concert at the award-winning The Line Up with Susie Mosher at Birdland Theater.
It’s a New York actor’s rite of passage: Law & Order! Andrea can be seen co-starring on Season 21 of the OG Law & Order as Dr. Wendy Lee!
Andrea sang a tune “Only When You Need Me” by Anessa Marie for her concert at Lincoln Center’s “Broadway’s Future Songbook Series.”
In addition to Executive Producing for her brainchild Queering the Canon, Andrea also closed out the 2022 Series with the commissioned song “The Win” by Addie Jean Ulrey & Key member T. Carlis Roberts at Joe’s Pub.
Conceived and Executive Produced by Andrea for Ring of Keys, Queering the Canon Concert Series will be performed as 3 one-night-only concerts, Queering the Canon: Andrew Lloyd Webber, Queering the Canon: Sondheim, and Queering the Canon: Kander & Ebb. The Series commissioned Key songwriters to write in response to canonical tunes by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, and Kander & Ebb. Through casting and storytelling, the canonical tunes are queered while in back-to-back conversation with the new canon of Key response songs. The Series creates visibility for nearly 85 queer performers, songwriters, and creatives, all of which are Ring of Keys members, while also highlighting songwriters who are currently queering our stages and creating a new canon.
Andrea premiered 2 new songs at the NYMF Finalist Concert at 54 Below - “If I Didn’t Have You” by Karl Amundson and “Lesbian” by Sarah Julius.
Andrea will play the role of Greenwich Martin, the lover of Jeannette Rankin (played by Tony-award winner Karen Olivo) in the workshop lab of the new musical WE WON’T SLEEP about the life of Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress in 1916. Book by Lauren Gunderson and music / lyrics by Ari Afsar. Performances are by invitation only, 12/16 and 12/17. WE WON’T SLEEP is slated to have its first production at Signature Theatre in D.C. in Spring 2022.
